May Lunch and Learn

Join us on May 14th for our monthly Lunch and Learn. Dr. Ashley Lemke will be presenting on Underwater Archaeology in the Great Lakes.

At the end of the last ice age, Wisconsin and other Great Lake states looked dramatically different. Environments and climates were different than today and most significantly, the Great Lakes were much lower. Past peoples, plants, and animals lived on these ancient lake shores and evidence of their existence is now underwater.

Join Dr. Ashley Lemke, an underwater archaeologist, and explore Lake Huron 9,000 years ago and its archaeological record of hunters and the sites they left behind.

Dr. Ashley Lemke is an Anthropologist and Archaeologist who works on land and underwater to explore the past. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
