Getting here: The Waukesha County Museum is located at 101 W. Main Street in downtown Waukesha.
From I-94, take exit #295 (Hwy. F) south approximately 2.5 miles. Turn left on Barstow. Turn left on Main Street. The museum is on the right.
 

From Hwy 43, take exit 54 for Racine Ave. heading north on Racine. Continue on Racine until Buchner Park, there will be a stop sign at the intersection. Turn left onto College Ave. At the stoplight turn right onto East Ave. Take East Ave to Main Street, the museum will be on the left.

Main entrance: is on Main Street, juts off the circle drive. Buses may pull into the drive for drop off & pick up. 

Parking: There is parking on Main Street, East Avenue, and Martin Street. A city parking lot, Barstow Lot is one block west of the museum.

Refer to street signs for time limits and restrictions when parking your vehicle(s). Busses can park anywhere around the building but may find it easier to park in the public lot located across from the liquor store at the corner of Barstow and Main.

When you arrive: Please check in with a greeter at the desk. They will assist you in starting your visit.

Cancellations/Late Arrivals: If you must cancel your visit, please contact us as soon as possible. Please note that tours cancelled less than 48 hours before the scheduled date will not be refunded. School trips: please refer to your program agreement for cancellation policies.

Group size: To provide you with the best possible tour, groups may be split into smaller groups. Please divide your group into the number of groups listed in your invoice or agreement. 

Accessibility:  To enter the museum at the main entrance on Main St., take either the set of steps or ramp to the left of the stairs. An elevator in the front lobby and a stairway in the main hall provide access to the upper floors. 

Museum Store:  Please have an adult with students when in the store. 

Youth and chaperones: children cannot be left unsupervised; all youths must be accompanied by an adult chaperone at all times. 

Beverages and food:  Food, candy, gum, or beverages are not allowed in museum exhibits. Please dispose of these items before entering the museum. 

Students groups and lunch:  The museum does not have a cafeteria for lunch. We recommend planning your field trip to allow for ample time for students to return to school for lunch. We also suggest visiting one of our nearby parks as part of your trip.

Frame Park has picnic tables and a playground area that is perfect for school groups. The Fox River-walk along Barstow and Corinna Blvd is also a good location for groups to sit and eat a sack lunch.
