Having a guided tour of the exhibits, bringing an outreach program to your classroom, and exploring our Discovery Boxes are all great ways to allow your students to re-connect with your curriculum in a fun, interactive way without breaking the bank.
Educator Open House
Saturday, March 10th from 10am - 3pm
Teachers, educators, and retired teachers of all grades are invited to the Waukesha County Museum for a special open house! The education department has been updating and creating new tours and programs for all grade levels, so let us show you how the museum can help create a unique learning experience for your students.
- Take one of several themed tours that are now available
- Participate in one of the new curriculum intensive programs, featuring artifact handling, games, music, and more
- Discover the new Museum To Go outreach program
- Complete a craft project
- Enter the free raffle for your chance to receive a gift card
- Explore Discovery Boxes
- Discover how the Research Center can be used in your classroom
- Interact with museum staff and education docents
- See the newest museum exhibit, "Behind the Vaults: Treasures from the County Museum Collection"
This event is free of charge, refreshments will be provided, and no registration is required. Family members are also invited and free, so make this a fun outing for your whole family to see the museum like never before! Questions? Education Advisory Council:
The Waukesha County Museum is putting together an Education Advisory Council, which will support the growth and development of the museum’s comprehensive education efforts and advise the Director of
Education on special projects and programs as well as general organizational education goals and direction.

Nominate a 3rd or 4th grade educator or youth group leader to the Advisory Council by downloading the nomination form (Word) and sending a filled out copy to our Director of Education.
