A majority of researchers who use the Research Center are genealogists. We've
had family history inquiries from around the United States as well as internationally.
Our next largest percentage of researchers, involves home/building/property
research. We've uncovered or clarified information for a large number of projects
over the years.
Please contact our Archivist or Research Assistants to inquire about your
research. You are welcome to stop in (for hours, see General Information) or
we can be reached at 262-521-2859 ext. 223 (telephone), 262-521-2865 (fax), evandenheuvel@wchsm.org (email).
If we are unable to assist you or you have exhausted our resources, we will
refer you to the next best source for sought-after information. You may use
the Research Center (on-site) for $3.00 per day. Historical Society Members
have unlimited on-site use of the Research Center when they show their membership
cards. By mail, email, fax, or phone, we charge $10.00 per hour. In addition,
we charge $0.20 per photocopy. When we send material, postage or faxing is
extra.

Research Assistance Spotlight

Myra Vachon has been a Museum volunteer since 2004. Her work in the Research
Center includes assisting patrons who come looking for information about
a variety of topics, including their family histories, their homes, and
the histories of their communities. She also works with document preservation
and data organization. Myra finds the work rewarding; “…what
I do touches the past, present, and future,” she says. “The
Museum is such a treasure. I am happy to be a part of it.”
