The Waukesha County Historical Society actively collects materials for both the artifact and archival collections and is interested in materials that help us share Waukesha County history.
Acquisitions to the collections or archives are considered by a committee which meets monthly. Potential material is evaluated from several aspects including but not limited to the museum’s mission statement, history of the material, duplication of current holdings, condition, etc.
The museum does not purchase material. Museum staff cannot authenticate or appraise materials, especially those being considered for acquisition. The museum is a non-profit organization so donations may mean a tax deduction which can be discussed in detail with your accountant or tax consultant.
If you have materials that you would like the museum to consider for inclusion in the collections or to learn more about the donation process please contact our Curator, Bonnie Byrd, at email@example.com.
