The Waukesha County Historical Society actively collects items for both the artifact and archival collections and is interested in materials that help us share Waukesha County history.
Acquisitions to the collections or archives are considered by a committee which meets monthly. Potential material is evaluated from several aspects including, but not limited to, how the materials align with our mission mission statement, history of the material, duplication of current holdings, condition, etc.
The historical society does not purchase material. Staff cannot authenticate or appraise materials, especially those being considered for acquisition. The historical society is a non-profit organization so donations may mean a tax deduction which can be discussed in detail with your accountant or tax consultant.
